It’s February and we are currently having an exam week at Klassikka. In short it means that this period ends and the next one is starting soon! This time is always fun because it gives more school-motivation when the subjects and courses change.
In Finland we are about in the middle of the winter now and we can feel it. There is plenty of snow outside and mostly cold weather, about from +2 to -20 celsius degrees. Winter is a lot of fun because there are so many opportunities to do! If you feel like doing activities you can go skating, skiing, snowboarding or just walking to the snowy city, or then you can just take a cup of hot chocolate and a good book (or a school book) and chill inside. It’s very dark in Finland in the winter, especially around christmas, in November and December. But when the new year starts and we are closer to the spring, it gets much better, like right now! We get more daylight day by day and in the summer we don’t get the darkness at all. Before christmas it’s usually already dark before we get out of school and work, but briefly after new years the days start getting longer and the light stays later and later. We can also see the sun much more at this time of the year, which is awesome! It is a great feeling to end a schoolday and step outside to the sunny and snowy city.

Kuopio is a town surrounded by a big lake, and in our town you can see the lake in very many places. In the winter the lake becomes a large pitch of skating- and cross-country skiing. People go to the harbor with the right equipment and enjoy the winter on the lake skating, skiing or walking. It’s a great way to get a break from schoolwork.
Now, when this period is ending, our Klassikka’s third-years are leaving the school and starting a reading-break which prepares them for the final tests. This means that Klassikka will be much emptier when only the first- and second-years are to stay in the school. But that doens’t stop our fun! Let’s enjoy the following period and keep up our school-motivation!
